With just 12 days left until mid-term elections, candidates are sweeping through the Valley, trying to gain last minute support. Democratic Challenger Jim Webb was on Court Square Thursday.

He arrived in Harrisonburg around 4 this afternoon, but he wasn't alone. At his side is Former Governor Mark Warner. This stop is a chance for Webb to meet and greet with voters and there was quite a large crowd waiting to shake his hand. In fact there was standing room only in Court Square Theater.

We had a brief moment to speak with Webb. We asked him how he feels about the New Jersey Supreme Court's ruling Wednesday that gay and lesbian couples should get the same benefits as opposite-sex couples. Webb says, that's New Jersey. "I am a Christian, I believe marriage is between one man and one woman and the Allen campaign has mischaracterized my faith rather than looking at my politics, in terms of the politics of this amendment I think it's a bad amendment I think people need to read all the way through this amendment and see that it's a lot more than simply whether marriage is between one man and one woman," says Democratic Senate Candidate Jim Webb.

Senator George Allen will be making a stop on Court Square Friday.
