Winchester Murder Victim's Cause of Death Released

The Fairfax office of the Virginia Medical Examiner has released new information on a Winchester murder victim.

Officials say 28-year-old Gregory Slater Jr. died of a shotgun blast to the head.

His younger brother, 24-year-old Justin "Pi" Slater, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the shooting.

Gregory's body was found Thursday in his Winchester home.

A woman's body was found Saturday in a Hardy County home that was once owned by Justin's parents. That woman has not yet been identified.

Justin's ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Kayleigh Plamondon, was listed as missing under suspicious circumstances by the Clarke County Sheriff's Office earlier last week.

Her family says a memorial for Plamondon is scheduled for Wednesday.

Justin is also scheduled to appear in Hardy County court for an extradition hearing Wednesday morning.
