Hundreds of people crowded Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center Wednesday afternoon for a special grand opening.
People from WWRC, family members and numerous state officials cut the ribbon for Rothrock Hall, a renovated wing on campus that will provide nursing and attendant care for many clients.
The project has been two years in the making and is named after Department of Rehabilitation Counseling Commissioner Jim Rothrock, who was also on hand.
WWRC Director Rick Sizemore says, "The building is restored to premiere status and we're excited today to have this building open so we can start providing services to clients."
Local Dels. Steve Landes and Chris Saxman, as well as representatives for Sens. Mark Warner and Jim Webb, spoke at the ceremony. A letter from Gov. Tim Kaine was also read at the event.
