You may soon see more timeshare space at the Massanutten Resort. The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors approved a request Wednesday night that would allow more buildings.

Before, the resort's master plan called for 27 timeshare buildings containing 12 units.

Now developers have been given the green light for 76 lock-out timeshare units designed as one and a half story paired homes.

Attorney Henry Clark spoke on behalf on the resort and says upgrades are vital for more than just the resort.

"The continued modification of the facilities at Massanutten Village is of extreme importance to the entire county both from a tax basis, an employment basis and the general welfare of the county's basis," says Clark.

Construction is expected to begin Thursday. No one spoke against the request.
