Sources say the King of Pop has died due to cardiac arrest.
Michael Jackson was 50 years old. He was taken to a Los Angeles hospital early Thursday afternoon.
Jackson was known as one of the entertainment world's most influential singers and dancers including having the top selling album, "Thriller."
He was also known as a disturbing figure, especially after video of him dangling his infant son off a balcony came out and allegations of sexual abuse of children took him to court.
Reports say paramedics rushed to Jackson's home and found him without a pulse. They were unable to revive him.
He had been getting ready for series of 50 concerts that were scheduled to begin this summer and run for three years.
