This weekend, dozens of people are strapping on helmets and taking part in the 14th annual Tour De Burg.
Thursday night, cyclists hit a five mile race on Rocktown Trail at Hillandale Park in Harrisonburg, but it was just a timed trial.
Participants will spend the next two days hitting some of the Valley's most unique and challenging trails.
Local cyclists are looking forward to seeing more pedal pushers around town and not just for the event.
"We'd also like to see more bike lanes, and more roads that are friendly, but more trails are a great thing as well," says Mike Carpenter, the director of the event.
A number of rider say the event is also good for camaraderie, your health and the environment.
The event runs through Sunday.
