The Harrisonburg Fire Department is investigating a blaze that broke out shortly after 6 p.m. Friday near downtown.
Fire Chief Larry Shifflett says the department got a call about the fire shortly after 6 p.m.
He says, at this point, it appears the fire began on the second floor of the garage. The garage is not attached to the house and no injuries were reported.
A woman living in the home says her car was briefly on fire. She left her home for about ten minutes and returned to find flames shooting from the roof of the garage.
Shifflett says the investigation is ongoing and a cause may not be released until Monday.
