Fireworks sales aren't the only ones that have gone up this year, especially for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
When he thinks of the Fourth of July, Valley resident Bill Mitchell says two things come to mind.
"Fireworks and bar-b-ques," says Mitchell.
Home Depot has been running specials for the Fourth. Marquis Lantz says they've been busy.
"Lots of cookouts. Lot of people coming in and picking up charcoal that we're running a special on. Picking up all the grills, getting ready. Standard weekend, holiday weekend," says Lantz.
Deals like that are exactly what Mitchell's looking for.
"Yeah, they have a great deal on charcoal. Like half price, you know, buy a bunch," says Mitchell.
It's not just a great deal. Lantz says it saves money compared to propane and gas.
From charcoal to grills, Home Depot's saw lots of last-minute shoppers starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.
"Yeah, people coming in. I mean, as soon as we opened our doors people have been in and out all day just buying everything they can," says Lantz.
They also say people have been getting ready all week.
"Yeah, it's very good for business," says Lantz.
Mitchell says he doesn't know whether or not he saves money by grilling out this Fourth, but he knows one thing for sure.
"Food's great. You know, I don't know if it's that much cheaper, but I do it better than I can buy in a restaurant," says Mitchell.
Fire experts say they respond to thousands of grill fires each year, so make sure you take the necessary safety precautions before grilling.
