A Weyers Cave family is speaking out about Luke Yoder, who was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center in critical condition after an outdoor fireplace fell on him.
His parents say Luke is still incoherent and in an induced unconsciousness. Luke and his cousin, Carson, were playing around a fireplace Monday when the 500 pound structure fell on top of them.
His parents, Ben and Lindsey Yoder, are keeping a blog to update people on Luke's condition and are asking for prayers for a full recovery.
They say seven-year-old Luke will slowly be taken off sedatives, but no one knows what to expect.
The Yoders write, "We cannot begin to describe what the last few days have been like for us. We feel completely broken and trust that God will piece us back together again."
Carson has two broken bones in his leg and is also recovering.
