A Valley man is on his way to prison after pleading guilty in a bank robbery.
A Waynesboro Circuit Court judge sentenced Stuart Henry Veney III to five years in prison for the March 9 robbery of the SunTrust Bank.
Police say the Waynesboro resident walked into the bank wearing a disguise and demanded money.
He also left a bag behind that he claimed contained a bomb.
A mental evaluation was ordered after an earlier hearing determined Veney had not been taking his medication for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
However, the results of that evaluation were not enough for a mental illness defense.
