It's been less than three-months since Graham Packaging laid-off 24 employees, but on Friday, another 34 layoffs were announced.

The new layoffs will take effect Sunday.

The Harrisonburg plastics plant says sales are down.

The company is also planning a one-week shutdown of the plant in September to reduce labor and operational costs.

This is Graham's third layoff this year, which means more than 100 positions have been eliminated.

No surprise, the hits just keep coming and coming on layoffs, I've already seen homeless people in H'burg walking around and I actually asked them what happened and all 3 of them were layed off. One had been out of work for over a year and eventually lost everything she had and she has no relatives or anyone else to stay with. I gave her some money and wished her luck, it's alll I could do because I myself I'm out of work. Who knows that could be me on the streets one day if I don't find work soon.
