The City of Staunton may soon have a new link with a city in Hungary.
Kristian Kancsar is the Youth Ambassador for Dubas, Hungary who has spent the past few weeks in Staunton, studying American culture and trying to create a deeper connection between his city and Staunton.
Staunton City Council members as well as Mary Baldwin College furthered the connection by visiting Dubas early this year and last year too. During those trips, Kancsar was their guide.
Kancsar says, "Our city council had a strong intention to establish a connection with an American town or city. We started to search some town or cities that would be proper for this goal and somehow we ended up here in Staunton."
The connection will enable students from Mary Baldwin to teach English to students in Dubas for credit.
