Virginia State Police and the University of Virginia police are asking for assistance in the search for a missing Virginia Tech student.
Authorities say 20-year-old Morgan Dana Harrington was last seen at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at the John Paul Jones Area. Harrington attended a rock concert at the venue but was separated from her friends during the show.
Harrington has not made contact with friends or family since, which her parents called "atypical" of their daughter during a news conference Monday afternoon.
In the news conference, Lt. Joe Rader told the media that Harrington would not have any identification nor a cell phone on her, though it was not explained why. VSP is treating Harrington's disappearance as a missing person's investigation only.
Dan Harrington reported his daughter missing around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. According to UVA police, they began questioning people Monday morning. Shortly thereafter, Virginia State Police also joined the investigation.
Harrington is a junior at Virginia Tech and had traveled with a fellow Virginia Tech student to James Madison University to pick up another friend. The three made their way to Charlottesville to attend a concert for the rock band, Metallica.
The Roanoke resident was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with tan lettering, a black mini shirt, black tights and knee high black boots. Her T-shirt spelled “Pantera” across the front, which is the name of a heavy metal band.
Morgan Harrington has long blond hair, blue eyes and is five-feet-six-inches tall, weighing approximately 120 lbs.
Anyone who has seen Harrington or may have any knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to call the University of Virginia Police Department at 434-924-7166 or the Virginia State Police at 434-352-3435 or by e-mail at bci-appomattox@vsp.virginia.gov.

I agree with "me" from virginia. The mother should not be worried about her chores?! I mean come on, your daughter is missing! I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose a family member! Hope she makes it back safe and unharmed! God bless!
It sounds to me like the mom is in denial and just wants her daughter home. I didn't think it was odd, just sad.
I thought her moms reaction was a little strange too, but I guess everyone reacts differently. I myself would not be that calm. I pray that she will be found safe and sound.
