Around 10:45 p.m. Friday, members of the Mathias-Baker Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of a one-story house fire on the 9300 block of U.S. Route 259 near Mathias.

According to reports, Sgt. D.N. Bishoff with the Hardy County Sheriff's Office was the first to arrive.

The bodies of three of the homes occupants, including 38-year-old Alaina Taylor, 39-year-old Dennis Taylor, who was working as a Rockingham County firefighter, and a juvenile were found inside.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiners Office in Charleston for autopsy.
