Some voters in Harrisonburg say they made their minds up before coming to polls Tuesday.

They say there wasn't much that could be done to make them change their minds.

Some voters say mudslinging was a huge factor in this year's race, but others say the issues were outlined and were clear cut and concise.

There was a significant difference in votership between this year's governor's race and last year's presidential election.

Inside the Lucy Simms center, voters were flowing in at a constant pace Tuesday morning. Slowly but surely, workers were signing voters in, making sure all votes are counted.

Harrisonburg voter William Roy says, "Today I've been really busy running my small business. Owning a small business and running one, this is an important election. And the Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and even our local delegate. It's important to make a vote."

A younger voter, Cory Partlow, says, "I think it all depends on your perspective and what kind of background you come from and basically your ideology. But in terms of young people voting a certain way, it all depends on where you come from."

In Harrisonburg, there was more of an older generation coming out to vote. The younger vote was not turning out as vigorously this time as it did for the presidential election last year.

Political analysts say that could have an impact on both the Deeds and the McDonnell campaigns.
