Authorities say a former Fork Union Military Academy teacher arrested in Mexico last week will likely be brought back to Virginia by the end of the week.
The arrest of Gregory Allen Moyer comes nearly three years after
his conviction for sex crimes involving two teenage cadets.
Captain Beth Skrobanski (skroh-BANN'-skee) with the Fluvanna
County Sheriff's Office says Moyer was arrested in Mexico on Friday
and is being held in Houston.
She says students at a school where he was teaching discovered
he was a fugitive while conducting an Internet search for a book he
published. They called the "America's Most Wanted" tip line.
"America's Most Wanted" contacted the Fluvanna County
Sheriff's Office, and Moyer was arrested through combined efforts
of the F-B-I and Mexican authorities.
Skrobanski says Moyer faces a charge for failing to appear at a
2001 sentencing hearing as well as his prison sentence of
three-and-a-half years. He disappeared while free on bond.
