A judge certified theft charges against a couple to a grand jury Thursday.
Timothy and Gracia Propst are accused of stealing from 84-year-old Irene Mae Mitchell.
The couple allegedly stole $6,000 from her over the course of several months.
They are friends of Irene's adopted son, Robert Mitchell, who police say put the couple in charge of her care in March.
Police say they began to steal from Irene shortly afterward.
At the time of the Propsts' arrests, Irene was bedridden and in hospice care.
The Augusta County grand jury will meet in January.
