A Stuarts Draft man is on his way to prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
On Monday, a Staunton judge sentenced John Michael Mason to life without parole for the 2008 shooting of Amanda K. Bush.
A jury convicted Mason of first-degree murder in August.
The 20-year-old victim was shot dead in the street when Mason stopped by the home where she worked as a live-in nanny.
Mason was also sentenced to 11 years in prison for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and a parole violation.
