At a recent employee meeting, the Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group, LLC presented Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative team members with the “President’s Perfect Record in Safety Award” for reaching 1,000,000 man hours without a lost-time accident.

“These long periods of work without a lost-time injury would not occur without the hard work of the employees of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative,” says John Coffey, Vice President of Engineering & Operations. “We are proud of their accomplishments.”

Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group Regional Vice President Bill Yount said that, since 1993 when the company started business in Virginia, this is only the second time they have presented the award.

“We very rarely give an award of this nature,” says Yount. “We think it’s an exceptional award for us to give to our accounts who think so highly of the employees and customers. That is a testament to the quality of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative.”

Coffey said that the Cooperative appreciates the relationship with Berkley Mid-Atlantic.

“We value our affiliation with Berkley Mid-Atlantic and their support of our efforts to safely provide electric service to our member/owners,” says Coffey.
