A Waynesboro man has been convicted in Louisa County for grand larceny and eluding police.

Forty-year-old Austin W. Keyser stole a car in Waynesboro in September 2008.

A Virginia State trooper saw him driving on Interstate 64 and tried to stop him, at which time Keyser took off at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

Kesyer got off the interstate and led troopers on a chase around parts of Louisa County.

When another trooper joined the chase, Keyser struck the trooper's vehicle and disabled it.

He crashed shortly after that and tried to get away on foot.

Keyser was charged with felony counts of attempted unlawful wounding of a trooper and failure to stop at the scene of an accident as well as eluding police and grand larceny.

He will be sentenced in Louisa County Circuit Court in February. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
