Clayton Towers lives in Bridgewater and acts as a "Weather Watcher" for TV Three calling in temperature and weather statistics each day.
Towers has been keeping diligent records of the weather there for 45 years.
"Well I don't know whether I've got it figured out or not, but I'd say at least I've got an idea about the behavior of weather here," says Towers.
According to his records, if Tuesday provides enough snow, this will be a winter for the record books.
"I would say that according to my records, this will be the snowiest winter since 1965," Towers says.
Lucy Helmick, a weather watcher who has lived in the Singers Glen area for 40 years, knows this is a record breaking year. She says she doesn't need the record books to know for sure.
"I think this is pretty much one of the biggest we've had. It doesn't seem as bad as it used to because the roads are open so much quicker now a days. I mean those road crew people really do a good job," Helmick.
Helmick says she just can't help but enjoy the snowy weather.
"I know it's inconvenient, and I know there's hardships in it and all but I'm sorry, I just love it," Helmick says.
Some of the "Weather Watchers" don't see winter going away anytime too soon.
"I would say we've got close to two months to go, to really get out of it," says Towers.
Helmick also sides with Towers in thinking this winter still has a few storms left to go, but hopes people will slow down, take a break, and enjoy the snow.
"There's a lot of good points to this. Even though a lot of people can't see it right now, but there are, there really are good things about the snow," says Helmick.
Carl Quintrell, another weather watcher living in Stanley says according to his records, after the snowfall today, this winter is likely to be the second snowiest since 1942 for Stanley, VA.
