Interstate drivers in the Valley have regained a spot to pull over because the New Market south rest stop in Rockingham County has unofficially reopened.
Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Sandy Myers says it's more of a "soft" opening, meaning crews opened the rest stop while finishing plumbing and electrical work this week.
However, if VDOT discovers major repairs that need to be done, it could again close the rest stop until the problem is fixed.
Two rest stops in Mount Sidney are slated to re-open March 17.
