Examiner Confirms Drowning as Cause of Death

The autopsy is done on the rowing coach who fell from a boat into the Potomac River. The medical examiner has concluded it's a case of accidental death by drowning.

John Catilo's body was pulled from the river yesterday near the Wilson Bridge, about two miles south of where he tumbled into the water on Friday.

Catilo had been coaching a summer program for novice rowers. He apparently lost his balance while trying to re-start the motor of his chase boat near Reagan National Airport.

The summer youth rowing program in Alexandria has been canceled this week out of respect.
