Body Found In Bedford County Identified As Augusta County Man
A body found Sunday morning in Bedford County has been identified as 42-year-old Sean Peter Placko of Churchville, Va.

A body found Sunday morning in Bedford County has been identified as 42-year-old Sean Peter Placko of Churchville, Va.
On Sunday at 8:30 a.m. this morning, Bedford County 911 Communications Center received a call from a man who reported that while fishing in the James River in the area of the Snowden Bridge found a body.
The Snowden Bridge crosses the James River and connects Bedford and Amherst Counties. Bedford County deputies along with Big Island Fire and Rescue units responded and located the body of a white male in the water on the Bedford side of the river.
After checking surrounding areas, Bedford County Investigators learned the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office took a missing person report on Placko on February 23, 2010.
At this time the cause of death is undetermined and the case is being worked as a death investigation.
Bedford County investigators are working with the Augusta County Sheriff’s investigators.
