Former Handley High School Teacher Adrian Ellis is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a female student.

The 30 year-old is charged with four counts of indecent liberties with a child under the age of 18.

Winchester Police say an investigation revealed that on several occasions during November 2008 through March 2009, Ellis had an inappropriate sexual relationship with one female student at various locations in and outside of the school.

Superintendent Dr. Rick Leonard says Ellis is no longer an employee of the Winchester Public School System.

Police say on Tuesday Ellis turned himself in to the custody of Winchester Police.

He was taken to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center and was released on a $15,000 secured bond at 7:05 Tuesday evening.

The investigation continues.

I agree with the person below. Stop being so harsh on this guy. Kids these days are doing so much more sexually than you may realize. For this "teenage girl" to be the "victim"...come on really???? Shes not dumb and knew what she was doing and kept doing. maybe he broke it off with her and thats why she came forward. No he shouldnt have slept with a student but come on.....should his life be ruined by a promiscuous teenage girl???? Honestly I had the hots for a couple of my teachers growing up...one of them was my teacher at Handley High School. Never acted on it. In this situation and ages given I think its just going to far and I actually feel bad for Adrian.

I am annoyed to see so many people harshly judging and jumping to conclusions so quickly based on what some think they know. The court will decide the proper form and severity of punishment based on the available evidence; this is not for us to "decide". What really needs to be considered is that there are two sides to this story. While Adrian might have made a bad decision, equally unfortunate is that this young girl (if proven true) consented to sexual activity with Adrian for a long period of time / multiple times without recognizing it was morally and ethically wrong. My questions are: why did she suddenly decide to come forward and reveal this 'story'? Did she feel pressure from friends? Did she think it would look better on her compared to having her parents find out some other way? Or did she feel jealous? I remember hearing girls in high school talk often of wanting to "hook up" with teachers. Students and Teachers both need clear education on dealing with these kind of issues
