Many WV Counties Report High Unemployment
Charleston, W.Va. More than half of the counties in West Virginia are reporting double-digit unemployment rates.

More than half of the counties in West Virginia are reporting double-digit unemployment rates.
Workforce West Virginia reports that Grant County is among the highest rates in the state, jumping from 13.5 in December to 15.9 percent in January.
Hardy and Pendleton counties also jumped to 13 and 11 percent respectively.
Calhoun County has the worst rate at 21.3 percent while Monongalia County maintained its position with the best at 5.8 percent.
The state unemployment rate for January was 10.5 percent, which is just slightly lower than the national rate of 10.6 percent.
