The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is investigating two business break-ins that occurred in Stuarts Draft.

When A New You Salon and Spa owner Pamela Hendricks got to work early Saturday morning, she says it took some time, and a missing curtain, to realize her business had been broken into overnight.

"And I knew something was wrong, so I took a few more steps and the lights were on back there, and I kind of peeked around the corner and I realized I had been robbed. My safe was gone," says Hendricks.

Kathy Vigilone owns Village Green Florist next door. She says a light left on caught her attention and she realized she had also been robbed.

"You think of people hitting larger businesses that carry more money. Why the small business person who's trying to make it," asks Vigilone.

Augusta Sheriff's deputies say the robbers pried open back doors and, after trying several, gained entry to these two businesses.

"Well I have better locks on my doors today for sure, that can't be pried open again. And we're hoping the security lights are fixed," says Vigilone.

With empty cash registers, Hendricks and Vigilone say they picked the Route 340 location because of the quiet, safe area.

"Angry that it did happen. I'm not scared. I'm not going to leave, I'm just going to keep going," says Hendricks.

While it was solely cash that was taken, the business owners say they're still surprised and upset.

"I think there are people who need help, and this is the way they choose to get the help instead of really getting help. Because I'd be glad to help them," says Vigilone.

If you have any information about these break-ins, the Augusta County Sheriff's Office urges you to call 540-245-5333.

You can't be working too hard to solve this crime, instead of trying to fight crime, you wasted your time to pull me over for a blown tag lamp tonight, I think investigating the real crime would better serve the community, then worrying if my license plate has a light on it or not. What a huge waste of taxpayers dollars !!!
