Some federal stimulus money was at work in Winchester.
The city Department of Public Works removed a hazardous tree using part of a $10,000 grant from the Department of Forestry.
Officials say this stimulates the local economy, because private contractors get hired for these kinds of projects.
"It's kind of a win-win situation," comments arborist Tim Stern. "The tree itself is one that is already on the approved removal list, so it was going to come down anyway. We just got federal funds to pay for it."
Officials in Winchester say area tree trimming business has been slow, and they're happy to help.
