It was an unusual scene when a small plane hauling a pro-life banner promotion flew over Charlottesville.
The plane was in the air Monday afternoon pulling a banner showing a picture of an 11-week-old fetus held in a human hand.
Some residents strained their necks to get a glimpse of the graphic picture that was captioned: "11 weeks-First Trimester."
Some residents did not have a problem with the message.
"It's just people protesting, expressing their opinions. It's the kind of country we live in. You like the opinions or you don't like the opinions. People should be free to express them," says George Taplin of Charlottesville.
The banner flies on the heels of the Virginia Legislature approving a pro-choice license plate that reads "TRUST WOMEN, RESPECT CHOICE." The new plate comes in response to a plate that was created last year, which reads "CHOOSE LIFE."
It's unclear who's behind Monday's banner. The plane disappeared very quickly after it appeared.
