A Waynesboro teenager is in jail Thursday after his car slammed into a family's home Wednesday night.
Police say the 17 year old was driving 20 miles per hour over the speed limit on Rosser Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
When they tried to stop him, they say the teen drove off.
By the time officers caught up with the teen's vehicle, he had lost control and crashed into the porch of a house on 13th Street and Oak Avenue.
Calob Hatter, who was in the house at the time, says, "Yeah it's scary but at least the porch was there so they didn't go crashing through the living room."
The driver is being held at the Shenandoah Valley Detention Center in Verona.
He has been charged with reckless driving and eluding police.
