Sheriff Farley is insulting our intelligence...to utter the words "illegal" and "not committing a crime"...the fact that they crossed our border illegally IS a crime!!! How about next time we are pulled over for speeding, we just say we are not breaking the law, we're just doing something illegal!

Isn't entering the country illegally breaking the law? Farley needs to take it one step further.

I agree if they are here illegally then they are breaking the law. This is saying that it is ok to be here. They come over here and buffalo the judicial system, take financial help away from us that need it. And they live tax free, that is the sad part. They can also have 2 families w/5 or more kids and live in a 4 bedroom home and nothing done about it. But let us legal ones try that and social services are ready to take our children. They need to be deported back to Mexico or where ever they came from. even if they in DON FARLEY'S eyes have not broke a law they are still ILLEGAL. So why let certain ones break the law.

So, as long as the illegal person is not breaking the law they will not be gone after. I thought being in this country illegally was breaking the law. I'm sorry but this whole idea is not right. It is not a good thing to say that we will allow people to break some laws but not others.

Sure...wouldn't want to jeopardize Harrisonburg's sanctuary status, now would we...All Illegals come to Harrisonburg!!!

I am sad to hear that the Sheriff has taken the opinion that as long as they are abiding the law, well being here illegally is not abiding by the law thus why they are called illegal immigrants. I have no problem with the immigration as long as it is done legally. I have often believed in what the Sheriff does but that statement does not sit well at all with me.

From what I read the sheriff is willing to ignore law breakers and in effect is an accessory after the fact in the breaking of federal law. It is illegal to hire illegal invaders. It is illegal for them to be here
