Second Louisa County Crash Victim Dies

Two people have died because of a crash on Route 33 in Louisa County Wednesday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 33 and Jouett School Road around 1:15 p.m.

The driver of a Ford Taurus, 74-year-old Patricia P. Hart, died at the scene.

Ninety-six-year-old Margaret P. Porterfield was a passenger in the vehicle. She died Thursday at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital.

A ten-year-old girl was also in the vehicle, but police say she is recovering from her injuries.

State police say the Taurus, traveling west on 33, failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Ford-F150 truck.

The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Luanne G. Bragg, was also transported to the hospital, although there is no word on a condition at this time.

Route 33 between Jouett School Road and Gardners Road was closed for some time while police investigated the crash.
