Dozens of demonstrators came to downtown Harrisonburg on Friday to protest against Bank of America.
Members of Blue Ridge Earth First rode their bicycles to the bank Friday afternoon. Several Harrisonburg Police officers watched the protest.
It was a peaceful one, with around 30 members handing out fliers and holding signs. The group says the bank's loans to the coal industry are contributing to mountain top removal.
"Mountain top removal puts dynamite deep in to the mountains and then explodes them," said Nottingham Parks, one of the protesters. "It's leveling out thousands and thousands of miles in West Virginia, Virginia, and Tennessee and it's destroying communities."
Bank of America officials say the company works to contribute to communities, and apply business practices that are good for the environment.
