The Staunton Republican Committee is hosting a forum Tuesday night at 7:00 in the council chambers at City Hall.

Their topic is regarding the proposed adult video store in the city of Staunton.

The committee says that the community should consider the facts surrounding pornography use including that the United States ranks fourth in the world for pornography usage, spending $13 billion a year.

That equals about $44.66 from every American.

To WHSV TV3 All the news clips I have seen related to the porn shop issue seem to be in favor of. Have you become a one sided news station. Why don't you give statistics on the crime increase in an area around a porn shop. Or the statistics of the increase in rape cases in an area around a porn shop. It seems to me that who ever is writing and editing this news is already in favor of the shop and only reporting things that will encourge it. It is un-ethical to report only one side and it disturbes me to see this station going that way. Do something good for your community and give all the facts.

Take me off the list, I do not spend any money on pron and have no intention of starting. The statistics listed above should give some indication of why this country is in the state its in. Porn has no benifit to anyone and in fact has people in bondgage they are not even aware of. Having this sort of thing where our young people can see it everyday gives them the idea that its OK and its NOT.
If we allow this shop into our town then others will follow and so will other things that we do not want. Things like prostitution and more drug use.
When are people going to wake up and realize that our children are having trouble because of the adults selfish behavior. They need examples of good behaivor not more bad.
I vote NO to the shop coming to our area. The rollercoaster ride to the gutter needs to stop.
