The After Hours Video store has found a home at 1724 Springhill Road in Staunton. The building is empty now, but the neighborhood fears the worst.

The adult store will be within blocks of two playgrounds, an apartment complex, a few churches, and many houses.

"A lot of perverts to be honest," says Sharon Wells, who lives next door to what will soon be "After Hours Video". "And I don't want it on my doorstep."

From the outside, it's an old unused building, but it's what's inside that's going to count.

"It'll have a big effect," says Wells. "I mean, if you look across the street you've got apartments with playgrounds with little children. You have a lot of traffic, a lot of strange people in the neighborhood."

The adult store isn't open yet, but Pastor Kevin Persinger worries about the neighborhood.

"We've got kids coming off of the bus. We as a Church stand for righteousness, so we don't want that to happen," says Persinger.

While many are thinking the neighborhood is going downhill, some residents won't complain.

"People learn their habits and behaviors at home, from their parents, and what they see first hand at home," says Connie Spitler, who lives down the street. "If that's not part of their life or anything that they would be interested in, I don't think it will really have an impact on their children."

Spitler drives past an adult store in Harrisonburg on her way to work nearly everyday.

"I don't see that that has had a major impact on the Harrisonburg community. It certainly couldn't. I don't see a more conservative community than Harrisonburg," says Spitler.

Im a frequent visitor and buyer at this establishment. I think that if the people prosicuting this man would be more open minded they wouldnt have a problem with this business. they dont just sell to the "PERVERTS" or the "DIRTY MINDED" they have helped my sexlife greatly and could do the same for those of you who are to old to be as open minded as the rest of us who make it possible for this business to function!!!!!!!

At least he isn't going door to door trying to shove his products down our throats. Only religious fanatics seem to be guilty of that. Get the hardcore christians off my doorstep and then we'll talk.

I agree with the pastor. Here again we're having things shoved down our throats and if we don't put a stop somewhere, where will it end. The gangs and drugs are enough.
