A man from Harrisonburg was killed in a car crash in North Carolina Wednesday morning.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports that Dennis Knupp died when a van he was riding in crashed on Highway 117 in the town of Calypso.

Knupp's wife, Heather, is in critical condition. Officials say their three children and in-laws were also taken to the hospital.

Our sister station in Eastern North Carolina reports the driver, Knupp's father-in-law, blew threw both a stop sign and failed to yield at a traffic light with a flashing red light flashing red before colliding with a hog truck.

I was there...it was an accident. Accidents happen everyday. This is / was a tradegy. Please everyone pray for everyone. No one would have been involved in this accident, if they could help it. ...and don't argue on such small things...there is a lot of heartbreak that will last a lifetime.

I am a friend of Heather's and just want everyone to remember her children and her love of Dennis and pray for them to get through this time.

I think people want to know what happens to their neighbors. The family in this case is obviously okay with it because they talked to TV3. Speak for yourself Deneene and Kelly.
