HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Attorney General and Republican nominee for Governor Ken Cuccinelli makes a stop in the Valley.

He visited a ceremony to honor veterans who fought in all the wars our country has faced.

Cuccinelli says the 4th of July is a day to remember why this country is free and to give thanks to all those men and women who fought to keep this freedom.

"It's always important to be thanking them for their sacrifices and their service because through the years, through 237 years, they've kept America the greatest country in the world and kept the rest of us safe from all the threats we face, so it gives us the chance to celebrate today," said Cuccinelli.

He continues to make stops all over the Commonwealth to celebrate Independence Day.
