The Augusta County Fair is into its second day and already organizers are saying the fair has been a big success.
According to fair officials, the fair doubled last years first night attendance numbers and Tuesday they had similar success.
One special event today was an exhibit by The Wildlife Center of Virginia.
An educator with the group showed off a few of the residents at the center and talked about what people can do to protect area wildlife.
She stresses that these types of events are great for educating the public.
"It brings awareness to different animals that they might not see at the fair, that they might see in their backyards or in the woods if the go hiking and what they can do to help those animals," says Wildlife Center Educator Claire Thain.
Other special events are scheduled for the fair throughout the week
