WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- The City of Waynesboro sponsored a blood drive, in memory of former Waynesboro Reserve Police Captain Kevin Quick, on Thursday.
The blood driver was open to the public and was held at the Public Works Administration building.
Earlier this year, Quick was found murdered in Goochland County. Several people remain behind bars facing multiple charges in connection with his disappearance and death.
Many in the community too the time to remember him.
"This is a way, really not to pay it back but to pay it forward a little bit. There's no better way to really respond to the kind of gratitude that we received then to try and save someone else's life," said Sgt. Brian Edwards with the Waynesboro Police Department.
