HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Many areas are still wet and slick after Tuesday's snow.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the roads in Downtown Harrisonburg are pretty clear.
While some of the secondary roads in the area were not treated, which led to some difficult driving conditions Tuesday morning.
Both Port Republic Road and Interstate 81 were pretty much clear and Ken Slack, a VDOT spokesman, said the roads are starting to improve.
So far, Slack said, there haven't been many accidents on the roads.
"Now we are talking about primarily snow this time, so not quite as tricky in the drive in as the ice, but definitely nothing to sneeze at," said Slack, "Right now we're seeing some improvement as the precipitation is tapering off, and we do expect some clearing this afternoon."
One concern in all of this is the forecast is looking chilly once again meaning some refreezing could happen overnight.
Slack said the best idea is to avoid secondary roads and to leave a little bit earlier if you can.
