HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Delano Fitz, who is accused of shooting a man on Christmas Eve, appeared in court for a hearing Tuesday.

Fitz's charges include first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

He is accused of shooting Traman Turner, the father of Edasha Williams' children.

In court Tuesday, Williams, Fitz's ex-girlfriend, said she walked outside and saw Fitz pull out a gun and shoot Turner.

When Turner turned around, Fitz shot him again and again in the back, a total of four times, according to Williams.

She also said Turner didn't carry a gun and that her kids were there to witness the shooting.

Williams became visibly upset while telling the court Turner's last words, "I love ya'll and take care of my kids."

According to Commonwealth's Attorney Marsha Garst, Turner's autopsy still isn't complete because of a question about one of the bullet holes.

In court, Williams also said Turner never threatened Fitz; however, the defense painted a much different picture, saying Fitz and Williams had a prior confrontation.

The defense elaborated, saying that Turner said he has 75 rounds for Fitz during a previous argument.

The defense played back Williams' interview with investigators after the shooting where she was crying and said, "Traman was threatening him and he was going to get his boys and light Harrisonburg up."

Williams said she didn't know what she said to investigators the day the shooting happened.

The case will now head to a grand jury Monday, March 24. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
