WEYERS CAVE, Va. -- Blue Ridge Community College is building its largest building on campus yet and it is a new fitness and recreation center for students. The building is the result of five years of planning and it will be open only to students.
Construction started this past March on the recreation center and it will have exercise equipment and weights.
Robert Baldygo, a college administrator, said they try to accommodate students as best as they can.
“This is just an example of one of the things the students are calling for. It will change the impact of students here at the college,” said Baldygo.
The center will cost about $10-million, and that will be paid for with student funds. College leaders hope to open the center by June.
