Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) --- According to the Richmond Times Dispatch, former Libertarian candidate for Governor Robert Sarvis, announced Wednesday that he will make a run for a U.S. Senate seat.
Challenging those like incumbent Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Republican Ed Gillespie.
Both politicians who plan on putting in a bid for the same seat.
Political analyst Dr. Bob Roberts said the Virginia Senate race could be similar to what we saw in the recent November election.
"The democratic ticket, it's the war against women. I suspect that will become a major campaign theme of the democratic party, trying to basically attack Republicans for taking away abortion rights.
Taking away birth control, the same thing we saw in the Governor's race," said Dr. Bob Roberts, who is a political analyst with James Madison University.
Libertarians will officially nominate a candidate for their ticket on February 8, 2014 in Richmond.
Republicans will announce their nomination in June at their convention in Roanoke.
