Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) The manhunt continues for a murder suspect accused of shooting Traman Turner on Christmas Eve. Monday night, on Commerce Drive, his family and friends gathered to remember him. It was the same place that Traman Turner was shot and killed a week ago.
The vigil was filled with songs, tears and prayers.
Miesha Horton, Turner's Sister-In-Law said she is trying to remain strong for her nephews who are four, seven and eleven.
"I just got to be there for the kids. It's sad that the kids got to go through this," said Horton.
Felicia Scott, who worked with Turner at George's Poultry company, said she remembers the good times she shared with the son she never had. She still can't believe he's gone.
"I didn't call him Traman, he was my stinky booty. My first thought was no it couldn't be him, because he was a good person. He didn't get into arguments with people," said Scott.
Harrisonburg Police Department said the manhunt is still on for murder suspect Delano Fitz, who they think shot and killed Turner.
"You can't live on the run, you just can't. You know so, God has it and I know God is going to take care of it," said Turner.
Family and friends have now started a fundraiser to gather money to bury Turner on Thursday.
They are looking to raise close to $7,000. Donations are being accepted at George's Poultry company on North Liberty Street.
