A blood drive was held Thursday in the memory of, Kyle Southern, an EMT who died in a crash earlier this month.

“My brother always donated blood. He liked to help people. This is my first time donating blood. It's the first time I've been able to: which is a blessing because I've tried plenty of times before,” Southern’s sister, Thrisha Southern said.

Southern’s loved ones tried to continue his charitable spirit by hosting this blood drive at the Waynesboro First Aid Crew Building.

More than 30 people came to the drive to donate blood in Southern’s honor.

To respond to the previous comment. Kyle was a 21 year old active member who died in the line of duty. He dedicated his life to helping others. He deserves every ounce of the respect he has been given. Kyle you truely were a hero. We love and miss you.
