Augusta County UPDATE:
State Police say the driver of the car was Kenneth Hupman, however his wife who was the passenger of the car died after being taken to Augusta Medical Center. State Police have identified her as Judith Hupman. The couple lived in Churchville.
Latest release from State Police:
At 7:46 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 12), Virginia State Police Trooper A.T. Coffey was called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Route 42, less than a mile south of Route 738, near the Churchville community of Augusta County.
A 2013 Honda was southbound on Route 42 when a deer struck the front passenger side of the car. The driver, Kenneth Hupman, 70, of Churchville, Va., was not injured. His wife, Judith M. Hupman, 69, was seated in the front seat. She was transported to Augusta Medical Center, where she later died from injuries sustained in the collision with the deer.
Virginia State Police say at 7:46 p.m. on Saturday they responded to a car accident on Route 42, near Route 738.
