HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Fraternity houses in Harrisonburg will no longer be as distinguishable.
That's because the City of Harrisonburg has asked fraternity members to remove the Greek letters displayed on their houses.
Four fraternity houses were recently notified to remove their signs.
The City of Harrisonburg determined the signs indicated that the buildings are used for fraternity functions.
The Harrisonburg Zoning Ordinance states that fraternities and sororities are not not permitted to have signage unless the property is owned or leased by the university.
