LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Gov. Bob McDonnell is set to give the graduation address at Virginia Military Institute's commencement this spring.
The military college in Lexington said McDonnell will speak at the May 16 ceremony in Cameron Hall.
McDonnell took office in January 2010 and is Virginia's 71st governor. He attended the University of Notre Dame on an Army ROTC scholarship and served more than 20 years in the Army on active duty and in a reserve capacity.
