Harrisonburg Celebrates a Successful Fourth

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV)-- Local vendors said they've never seen more people downtown for Independence Day.

From fireworks, to dozens of vendors in Court Square, and at the Farmers Market Pavilion, there was plenty to do.

Workers at Larkin Arts had 16 different artists outside displaying their work. Meanwhile, food vendors including Grilled Cheese Mania, which sold hundreds of sandwiches, said it was good for business.

They're cleaning up and unloading after a string of large events.

"We looked out our window, it was just a sea of people, it was a sea of people and a lot of them had their faces painted and a lot of them were wearing their Grilled Cheese Mania stickers, people were just sitting on the ground, picnicking," said Kathleen Mania-Casey, runs grilled cheese truck.

Harrisonburg downtown renaissance hosted the event. You can see on July 5, not much left behind from the enormous gathering.
