HARRISONBURG, Va. More than 100 people celebrate the hip hop culture with music, dj's and dancers in Harrisonburg.

The Harrisonburg Park Jam is a free event promoting the positive aspects of hip hop culture by reminding people how this type of music started.

Organizer Ryan Slocum said he hopes there are more jams like this.

" An event like this is important because it brings people together and I think this is something in Harrisonburg that doesn't get done a lot and it's something different.," says Ryan Slocum.

This is the first park jam about hip hop.
